Quest University Canada hosted the 2017 PACWEST Basketball Provincial Championships on March 2-4. The tournament welcomed 12 teams total (6 men's and 6 women's) and ran for 3 full days of exciting, high-stake games.

Unfortunately, despite their best efforts both Quest teams were eliminated in the first round. Women's basketball lost to the Camosun College Chargers 88-77. And the Quest men's team lost to Douglas College 86-80. The top scorers for the Kermodes were 2nd year guard Jordin Wilkinson with 25 points, and senior guard Dallas Searles with 22 points.

On the women's side it was the Douglas College Royals who took home the gold medal. The Vancouver Island University Mariners won it for the men's side. Both teams will continue on to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Nationals to compete against the very best teams from the top conferences in the country.

On behalf of the Quest Athletics Department, we wish to extend our most heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the Kermodes throughout the 2016-2017 season.

Thank you to our Event Staff who made sure everything ran smoothly, and a very special thank you to our remarkable student-athletes who gave it everything they had. Thank you to our coaches, who dedicated so much of their time and effort to the Quest athletics program, for your guidance and leadership.

To our senior players who just finished their basketball career at Quest, thank you for your dedication and for all the entertainment. It's been a pleasure to watch you grow into the wonderful individuals that you've become. We look forward to hearing about all of your future endeavors and wish you the best of luck.
